Seamless WordPress Installation: A Guide to ServerByt Hosting
Getting your website live is fast and easy when you combine robust hosting with the world’s most popular Content Management System (CMS), WordPress.
This step-by-step guide will walk you through installing WordPress on your ServerByt hosting account, from verifying domain readiness to accessing your new administrative dashboard.
Step 1: Verify Domain and Nameserver Propagation
Before starting the installation, you must ensure your domain name is correctly pointed to your ServerByt hosting.
A. Access Your ServerByt Control Panel
- Log into your ServerByt dashboard.
- Navigate to the control panel by clicking “Log to control panel” [00:13].
- In the control panel, go to the Domain section to confirm the target domain (e.g.,
mummymart.net) has been successfully added to your hosting package [00:32].
B. Check Nameserver Propagation
If you recently updated your domain’s nameservers (e.g., in your GoDaddy account) to point to ServerByt, you must verify the changes have been finalized globally.
- Use a tool like MX Toolbox SuperTool and perform a Whois Lookup [00:58].
- Type your domain name into the search bar.
- The results should display the ServerByt nameservers you added previously, confirming successful propagation [01:09].
Step 2: Install WordPress via ServerByt
Once propagation is confirmed, you can use the hosting provider’s automated installer (often called Softaculous or similar) to set up WordPress.
- Locate the Installer: Return to the ServerByt control panel home screen. Scroll down and find the Click installs section [01:51].
- Select WordPress: Type “WordPress” in the search box and click the WordPress icon to start the installation wizard [02:01].
- Configure Installation:
- Choose Domain: Select the domain you want to install WordPress on.
- Directory: Specify the folder name (if desired, like the one created when the domain was added) [02:16].
- Execute Installation: Click “Install WordPress”. The process may take up to a minute to complete [02:25].
Step 3: Finalize WordPress Setup and Login
After the automated installation finishes, you will be given a link to complete the final configuration steps.
- Language and Details: Click the provided link for your main domain. This will launch the WordPress setup screen.
- Select Language: Choose your preferred language [02:48].
- Site Information: Enter essential details such as your site title, desired username, and a strong password for your administrator account.
- Complete Installation: Click “Install WordPress”.
- Log In: Once the installation is successful, click “Log in”. Enter the administrator credentials you just created to access your WordPress Admin Portal (wp-admin) [03:01].
You can now start customizing your website, adding themes, plugins, and content!
